Hewlett Packard Enterprise operated by Selectium showcases cutting-edge HPE solutions at INFOSEK 2024
In its 22nd Year, Slovenia's INFOSEK offers unparalleled insights into the latest trends and innovations in cybersecurity
INFOSEK 2024 took place at the Hotel Perla, Nova Gorica, Slovenia from 4 to 6 September, with Hewlett Packard Enterprise operated by Selectium proudly participating in this major cybersecurity event as one of its gold sponsors.
In 2024, the INFOSEK team celebrated the event’s 22nd year of providing information security professionals from around the world with the opportunity to stay informed about the latest trends, events and issues in information security and information risk management.
Infosek is the biggest event in Slovenia in the field of information security. The conference offers participants the opportunity to learn about the latest trends and solutions in cyber security. Renowned experts from Slovenia and abroad presented topics in the fields of cyber and information security, risk management, etc.
This year, Infosek followed a pirate theme and featured four distinct conference strands: Infosek itself, a CIO Forum, a Mastermind Conference, and practical workshops. The event drew over 800 attendees, featured more than 150 speakers, and offered around 70 sessions and presentations.
The daily conference activities were packed with insightful lectures from leading IT company representatives, followed by engaging leisure activities designed to foster networking opportunities. These interactions allowed the team to connect meaningfully with industry stakeholders while effectively promoting the HPE brand.
Hewlett Packard Enterprise operated by Selectium presence included an exhibition stand, a brief quiz, and a lecture. The team was present on the exhibition stand for all three days of the conference. The presence was also supported by technology partners, AMD.
The Selectium team highlighted key HPE Aruba Networking technologies, such as the Aruba CX 10000 switch with AMD Pensando technology, which offers an 800G distributed stateful firewall for east-west traffic, trusted segmentation, and in-depth telemetry. Also featured was the application recognition technology in the 6300 and 6400 switch series that enhances visibility at the network edge.
HPE network solutions engineer and Aruba Community MVP Gorazd Kikelj was a featured speaker at the second day of the conference. Gorazd lead with a presentation titled “Say goodbye to the VPN for good.”
The key takeaway from his presentation was that VPNs are not designed for today’s hybrid way of working. The rise of remote working, which is great for digital transformation, has created new challenges in providing secure access to business applications.
Although most organizations still use VPN services, they face certain limitations. 92% are concerned that a VPN would compromise their secure environment. 81% are dissatisfied with the user experience and 56% state that they are looking for an alternative to traditional VPN solutions. Gorazd then talked about possible alternatives to VPNs and introduced other HPE Networking security solutions.
