Hewlett Packard Enterprise operated by Selectium sponsor Safaricom’s Decode 2.0 event in Nairobi
Two day event included Safaricom campus tours, hackathons, and also coincided with Innovation Weeks across the Kenyan nation
Hewlett Packard Enterprise operated by Selectium sponsored and organised a panel discussion at the exciting two day Decode 2.0 Summit on October 11 and 12 in Nairobi and online across the world. Safaricom – the leading telco in Kenya and much of Africa – hosted the second edition of Decode under the theme of “Igniting Africa’s Digital Renaissance.”
The two-day forum, also billed as the Safaricom Engineering Summit, was attended in-person by over 800 industry stakeholders and thousands of others online. Held at Sarit Expo Centre in Sarit Centre Mall at Westlands, Nairobi Kenya, the summit included Safaricom campus tours, hackathons, and also co-incided with Innovation Weeks across the Kenyan nation.
“This event, aptly named Safaricom Decode 2.0, is not just a conference but a dynamic platform that empowers Safaricom engineers to showcase their technical prowess and connect with the broader tech community” said Peter Ndegwa, CEO of Safaricom.
“It is a testament to our commitment to being the Tech Partner of choice for Digital and Creatives. Kenya is a youthful country with immense opportunities. By combining the power of tech and purpose, we intend to tap into the ability and skill set of the youth, supporting them to take full advantage of the digital space and gain immensely from it” added Peter Ndegwa.
As well as supporting Decode 2.0 with their generous sponsorship, Hewlett Packard Enterprise operated by Selectium were responsible for contributing to three panel discussions: Amritpal Singh Rajbans, Services Business Manager for Selectium, was part of the CIO Forum panel on ‘Resilient Tomorrow – Building an Antifragile Digital Ecosystem for Business.’
Hewlett Packard Enterprise operated by Selectium also invited their own regional partners to contribute to panels, and so Vishalan Moodley, Head of Pre-Sales EE, SSA TIBCO CSG Emerging Markets, took part in the Digital Revolution Panel, entitled ‘Fast-Tracking Inclusive Public Infrastructure through Citizen-Centric Design.
