K-tuin acquires Apple Premium Reseller Banana Computer and their four stores in the Canary Islands
Both companies will take advantage of synergies to grow market share with Banana Computer continuing under its own brand
K-tuin, the major Spanish Apple Premium Reseller, and part of the Midis Group, has acquired Banana Computer and its four retail sites in the Canary Islands. Two of the Apple Premium Reseller sites are located in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, with two further stores in Tenerife, one in the capital, Santa Cruz, and the other in La Laguna.
The agreement between Banana Computer and K-tuin is a significant step towards integrating the partners’ distribution expertise in retail, business to business (B2B) and education. With the support of Midis Group, the collaboration aims to leverage synergies and benefit from the extensive experience of both companies and their teams of professionals.
K-tuin has 33 stores distributed throughout the Spanish peninsula, the Balearic Islands and Andorra. The union with Banana Computer further strengthens the position of K-tuin as a leader in the Spanish Apple market.
Banana Computer enjoys a leading position in the consumer technology market in the Islands. Following the agreement, the company will continue to operate under Laura Herrera’s direction while maintaining its brand and independence. Customers will not experience significant differences beyond the inclusion of new advantages and services as a consequence of the acquisition.
“A new and exciting phase begins. It is a great step forward for both brands to continue competing within the Apple market with the focus on offering customers a differential and innovative proposition; Ultimately, the best possible shopping experience” said a spokesperson from K-tuin.
On the Banana Computer website news of the acquisition by K-tuin came with an important offer for customers: “Banana will continue with its well-known hallmarks, the friendly closeness of its specialists and the brand of its premium stores. To these advantages will be added the new services that today K-tuin offers successfully in all its stores. To start celebrating this union, we are pleased to announce that, starting today, Banana customers will have free access to K-tuin skool, the best platform in Spanish for online training on Apple products.”
