MDS Site & Power wins ISO 14001 environmental management and ISO 45001 occupational health & safety management certification
ISO 45001 is set to drastically improve levels of workplace safety across many industry sectors
MDS Site & Power have achieved certification in two new and crucially important ISO categories – ISO 14001 (Environmental management) and ISO 45001 (Occupational health and safety management), alongside their existing ISO 9001 (Quality management) mark.
“It’s really important that companies working in our industry segment manage their businesses and operate with strong adherence to health, safety and environmental standards,” said Khaled H. Nehme, Projects Director of MDS Site & Power.
“Working hard to achieve these new standards is a major gain for MDS Site & Power and gives us a significant head start in the market. It also shows our commitment to provide the optimum levels of health, safety and environment for all our employees, clients and contractors by providing a safe working environment and complying with all applicable HSE legislation, regulations and standards.”
According to the website of the international standards organization itself, ISO 45001 is the new ISO standard for occupational health and safety (OH&S) and it has become one of the most eagerly awaited standards in the world, set to drastically improve levels of workplace safety.
ISO 14001 is as important as ISO 45001 for companies working in Site & Power sectors; while the latter checks health and safety of development and working around major installations, the former is about key environmental impacts across a range of criteria.
Again according to the ISO website, 14001 certification provides assurance to company management and employees as well as external stakeholders that environmental impact is being measured and improved.
