MDS Storage Solutions, CDA, VMware and Dell held a successful event about Multi-cloud strategy for executives on October 5 in Jumeirah Emirates Towers followed by a tour of the Museum of the Future.

The event was structured to allow discussion about the future critical decisions that IT leaders need to make which will impact the future of their businesses. Alongside the benefits of this new set of solutions, there are also complex sets of problems inherent in managing multiple, distinct cloud environments – chiefly potential new security risks and system complexity.

The pre-publicity for the event assessed that, ‘as more and more hyper-scales open in the UAE, the vision of Multi-Cloud approach is becoming more of a reality, rather than a distant vision. Organizations in the UAE are able to capitalize on multiple clouds and its services — to innovate, grow, reduce costs, and increase productivity.’

After an introduction to the day from the MDS and CDA team, the first speaker was Ashraf Zaki, Lead Solutions Architect from VMware. His presentation was called ‘How to build your Enterprise Cloud Reference Architecture.’

This was followed by Saadallah Chebaro, Technical Lead from Dell, who titled his presentation ‘How Ready is Your Infrastructure for Modern Applications?’ Ashraf Zaki then returned with a presentation called ‘Securing Your Software Defined Data Center.’

The Dell and VMware team then explained more about applying best practices for their Modern Enterprise Reference Architecture, suggesting how to manage and optimize cloud provision, control costs, and monitor enterprise security. A panel discussion followed, then lunch and the tour of the Museum of the Future.
