Midis Group endows Student Computer Center at LAU in Beirut
High-End Lenovo workstations capable of all key engineering applications
The Midis Group continues it’s strategy to boost corporate citizenship in Lebanon and regionally with the completion of the Midis Group Student Computer Center at the Lebanese American University (LAU) in the center of Beirut.
“Through this significant investment, we are very pleased indeed to spur onwards the nation’s educational growth and open new doors for youth. This is a cause to which we at Midis have long been committed,” said Katia Harfouche of Midis Group.
The MIDIS Group Student Computer Center covers 108.8 m2 of comfortable working space with an astounding unobstructed view of the Mediterranean. The Center serves as a common computing area for all LAU students.
The Center has become one of the most visited labs in the School; no classes are offered there, meaning it is dedicated solely for each student’s personal academic use. The busy lab is accessible round the clock, 24/7, and it is the one location where students have access to all the software they require for their homework and projects.
The Center caters for students from all departments, and has all necessary engineering applications installed. It features 30 high-end Lenovo “Think-Station” workstations with the latest Windows 10 operating system, and it is equipped with a heavy-duty HP printer, two scanners and an overhead projector with a smart class system.
